Honesty about the limits

What I do, and what I don't

Knowing where a practitioner's work ends matters as much as knowing where it starts. This page says both plainly.

What I am

A certified Aafiyah Healing practitioner. Aafiyah Healing is a holistic therapy that works with the connection between physical symptoms and unprocessed emotion, using energy healing, emotional release techniques, tapping and affirmations.

I trained through Aafiyah Healing, founded by Zuhair Girach, and I'm certified to practise independently under my own name. All my sessions are online, and I work with women all over the world.

What I am not

I'm not a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist, counsellor, physiotherapist or any other registered health professional. I have no medical training.

I can't diagnose you with anything. I can't prescribe anything. I can't treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition, and I won't tell you that I can.

What I do is complementary to medical care — it sits alongside it. It is never a replacement for it.

In practice

What this means for you

  • Keep seeing your doctor

If you have a symptom that hasn't been looked at, please get it looked at. If something changes or worsens, tell them.

  • Keep taking your medication

Don't stop, reduce or change anything you've been prescribed because of anything that happens in a session. If you want to change something, that conversation belongs with your doctor, not with me.

  • I won't comment on your medical care

Not on your diagnosis, not on your treatment, not on your medication, and not on whether your doctor has got it right.

Where I can help

What people usually bring

People come to me by one of two routes. Very often the two turn out to be the same thing.

Physical

Pain and discomfort that's persisted.

Emotional

Low mood, anxiety, fear, phobias, overwhelm, grief, difficult memories, feeling stuck.

Where I stop

What I don't work with

I'll say so, and help you find someone who can, if you bring me any of the following.

  • Thoughts of suicide or self-harm
  • A mental health crisis, or a diagnosis that needs clinical care
  • PTSD, or trauma that needs specialist clinical support
  • A physical symptom that hasn't yet been seen by a doctor
  • A situation where a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk
  • Domestic abuse where your immediate safety is the concern

None of this means you can't be helped. It means I'm not the right person, and that saying so is part of my job.

If you need help now, please contact your doctor or your local emergency service. If you're not sure where to turn, your doctor is the quickest route to the right support wherever you live.

Boundaries

Things I won't do

  • Tell you what to do with your life

People ask me — often — whether they should leave a marriage, a job, a family situation. I don't answer that, and it isn't reluctance. Decisions that size shouldn't be made from the middle of overwhelm. What I can do is help clear the fog so that when you decide, you're deciding from a settled place. Alongside that I'd say pray Istikhaara and speak to someone you trust.

  • Guarantee you anything

Not a result, not a timescale, not a permanent fix. Anyone who does is selling you something.

  • Push you to talk

Aafiyah Healing works with the feeling rather than the story, which means you can release something without ever telling me what it was. Many of my clients do exactly that.

  • Press you to book more sessions

I generally suggest at least three, because that's how the work tends to hold — not because it's a package. I'll tell you when I think you're in a good place to stop.

  • Keep working with you if it isn't helping

    I'd rather say so.

Faith

Aafiyah Healing is grounded in Islamic principles. It is not derived from the Qur'an or the Sunnah, and it doesn't claim to be. It doesn't interfere with any Islamic ruling or practice, and it is not a religious obligation.

There is no praying involved in a session, and I'm not reciting anything over you. I mention this because it's the single most common assumption people arrive with.

My faith is central to how I work and it comes into the sessions naturally. You don't need to share it for this to help you.

Age, and who I see

Find Tranquility is an adult practice, and I work with female clients aged 18 and over.

Where a parent asks about a child, I'd usually suggest starting with their doctor. I'd also gently offer something else: I do work with parents, and when a mother is less overwhelmed and more settled in herself, she is in a better place to support her child.

If something about how I've worked with you doesn't sit right, please tell me. I'd genuinely rather hear it. You can read my terms of service and privacy policy.

Take the first step

You don't have to be ready.
You only have to be willing.

Start with a free twenty-minute chat. No pressure, no commitment — just a conversation about where you are and whether this feels right for you.

All sessions are online, wherever you are in the world.

Let's have a chat

Fill this in and I'll be in touch to arrange a free 20-minute call. No obligation, nothing to pay — just a conversation about whether I'm the right person to help.

All sessions are online, so wherever you are in the world, we can work together.

So I can suggest a time that isn't the middle of your night.

You don't need to explain anything now — we'll talk properly on the call.

I'll usually reply within two working days. Your details go no further than me — see the privacy policy.

Find Tranquility offers complementary therapy. Parveen Dodia is not a medical professional and cannot diagnose, prescribe, treat or cure any condition. If you need urgent help, please contact your doctor or your local emergency service.
